(A girl sent her resume to a company for a position. A few minutes later,she phoned to make sure whether the resume is received.）

A: Hi, this is Jane Lin. I faxed my resume to you a few minutes ago. And I want to make sure you received it.

B:Yes,we got it.

A : Great. I'm very interested in talking with you some more about this position

B : Well jet me review your resume and I'll give you a call.

A : Great, you may call me at either my office or at home.

B : OK ,you should be hearing from me in the next couple of days .

A : I look forward to it.

B:Thank you for calling.

A :Thanks.

(一个女孩把简历传真到了一个公司去应征一个职位。几分钟后她打确认简历 是否收到了。)

A:我是林简，我在几分钟前把我的简历传真给你们了。我想确认你们是否收到了。

B:是的，我们收到了。

A:那很好，我很有兴趣多谈一些关于这个职务的事。

B:我先看看你的简历，随后会打给你。

A:好，你可以打到我的办公室或家里。

A : Could you help me revise my resume before I send it out to the Human Resources Department?

B: Sure, let me have a look... Personal Information . Career Goals.Educational Background, Working Experience,

Computer Skills , Personality... I think your resume looks great,but why don't you cover your Language Skills Into it ?I know you can speak English , Spanish and Japanese very fluently .

A: But I don't think languages are quite related to the position I apply for. You know I want to he a computer engineer. Shouldn't everything I put on my resume have something

to do with my field?

B:I think people would be impressed by your language abilities. Only a few people could speak three foreign languages. Your language skill says something about your talents and experience.

A: My resume is just a piece of paper. Do you think the manager of Human Resources

Department can tell if I am talented and well -rounded by just looking at my resume?

B:You're right. The resume is limited in how much it can tell someone about a person. but it can he helpful in giving a good impression to a potential employer .

A:我把简历寄给人力资源部之前，你能帮我修改一下吗?

B;当然可以。让我看看……个人信息、求职意向、教育背景、工作经验、电脑技能、个人性格……你的简历看上去不错，但是为什么你不把自己的语言水平这项包括进去呢?我知道你讲英语、西班牙语和日语都很流利。

A:但是我认为语言能力和我应聘的职位没有什么关系。我想做一名电脑工程师。我写进简历的东西不是都应该和我的研究领域相关吗?

B:我想人们会对你的语言能力留下深刻的印象。没有多少人能讲三门外语。你的语言水平可以说明你的才华和经历。

A:我的简历只不过是一张纸而已。你觉得人力资源部经理仅仅看一下简历就能知道我是个有才华、全面发展的人吗?

B:你说得对。简历在说明一个人有多大能力方面是有限的。但是简历可以帮助你给未来的雇主留下良好的印象。
